WATCH: Accessorize an Anthropologie Black+White Dress

Black+White will always be classic colors that are acceptable in any season.  They both transition well from sun up to sunset. Black is one of my go-to hues. On a day when I feel like wearing a punchy red lipstick shade or just feel sexy, black is always along for the ride.

Accessorizing the colors is exciting because you have endless options. Absolutely any other color pairs perfectly. In this 2-Minute Outfit video, I show you how to style black+white with variations of gray and platinum accessories and a forest green color pop to polish off the look at the end.

This dress had me at “pockets.” I LOVE pockets! I bought this racer back Anthropologie dress a few years back in Austin. I also love all the other little details. It buttons up the front with a little ruffle. The full midi skirt bottom is embroidered with circles and an scalloped edge. I’ve worn it to work, to after-hours events and even to church. For the office, I’ve even styled it with a citrus yellow lace blazer as you’ll see in the VIDEO. Any color will do. If you’re not comfortable showing your arms, you can also wear a cardigan and wear the belt around the cardigan instead of on the dress.

Accessories matter when styling black and white. Fortunately, silver and gold are in-sync with the hues. Today’s choice is  silver. One silver cuff for a day look is chic. Now, let’s transition the look from day to night.

The finishing touch is a bold color to elevate this to glam status. A black bag would be too much black and won’t offset your outfit. But a smashing color makes this red carpet worthy. Instead of a green clutch, you an also try hot pink, red, or yellow.
