Style Foundation: I snagged this blazer from Target’s sale rack last season and I’ve worn it year-around. Blazers give you endless styling and pairing options. In addition, black and white are classic, timeless hues. No matter what strolls down the runway each season or what mid-life crisis you put your closet through, anything in black+white is always a staple must-have.

Styling Color Variations: Another great feature about wearing black is that it pairs well with itself. You can toss on as many layers in the same color family, no matter if they are the same shade, and it still works. The pieces I’m wearing are each separates. The J. Crew pencil skirt is a long time favorite. The Banana Republic tunic tank is another easy throw on and the blazer is the finishing piece. Each are a different shade of black and all of it simply works.

Accessorize: There are no limitations when you begin to accessorize black. Absolutely anything and everything works. Now that we are transitioning our closets to Autumn, earth tones and darker hues are great for accenting your look. Photo on 10-7-14 at 5.08 PM #4Photo on 10-7-14 at 5.11 PM #3

Style Spin: This look flips without any effort. Slip off the skirt, pull on a pair of trousers. Keep the accessories and shoes the same.Photo on 10-7-14 at 5.04 PM #3Photo on 10-7-14 at 5.06 PM

Style Bonus: Another Look is to shed the blazer and swap the accessories for a gold choker, Cleopatra necklace. Anything that you have though in gold works too.Photo on 10-7-14 at 5.32 PM #3Photo on 10-7-14 at 5.34 PM #3
