Scrolling social media can sometimes cause one to feel horrible about themselves because it’s easy to get swept up in self-doubt, professional doubt, and depression when looking at what other people are doing or how they portray to be living their lives. Imposter syndrome will trick us into believing others are doing extraordinary things and we’re not.
On this episode with CEO of Lamik Beauty Kim Roxie, we discuss adopting the belief that not all of what you see is real and if it is, so what, we are all on our own paths and our own journey.
“When we’re talking about looking at all these things and fearing that we’re not where we’re supposed to be compared to someone else, I have to check myself and remember that’s not my calling and I should be rooting for that other person and be their biggest cheerleader,” says Roxie. “In order for me to reveal the beauty of women, I’ve got to cleanse and detox on jealousy and envy everyday.”
