Nothing2Wear: What to Wear to the Holiday Party+Re-Wear Later

I love the Holiday season! The air is more festive and the moods of people and the atmosphere are more robust; which can be positive and negative. My love for the season overflows into the anticipation of holiday come- togethers. Laughing, swapping loving gestures and seeing someone’s face glow when they open a gift (they like) are all goosebump worthy exchanges. Another experience I look forward to is dressing up. Whether it’s office parties, ugly sweater parties, or house parties, you need something fun, chic, and fuss-free to wear. Choosing the right look, styled with outfit- enhancing accessories, is important. My goal is to stay in-sync with Nothing2Wear by buying and suggesting pieces that can re-worn to other events and incorporated into your everyday style, as featured on abc-TV, Birmingham. WATCH.

Veer from the Fashion Norm- Wear a color other than holiday red or green. Reach for a hue that’s different but still synonymous with the season. This cobalt+midnight blue metallic dress is highlighted with gold glimmers, complimenting most skin tones and eye colors, like blue, brown, and hazel, especially at night. Gold is a strong undertone bursting with holiday style spirit. When deciding on a style, look for something that plays up your assets. It’s off- the- shoulder bodice sits gracefully across the chest, showing just enough skin.

Accessorize: There are several accessory options. I’ve narrowed down two; statement earrings or a statement necklace. Bronze chandelier earrings pick up the braided bronze detail on the waist. If you wear larger earrings, you don’t need a statement necklace. If you choose a statement necklace, keep your earrings simple and wear studs. Tossing in a gold clutch and statement ring and a gold or neutral heel finishes the look.

Style Flip: Later, this can be re-worn to an evening wedding, a dinner party or a show.

Black is a natural Go-To: You will likely see lots of girls wearing a black outfit. LBD’s are my faves but this time, I suggest you step out of your comfort zone and go for a versatile romper. If the party attire is business casual or cocktail, you will not be under or over dressed in a romper. The sheer sleeves and embellished cuffed wrists make this a perfect party choice.IMG_0589

Style Evolution: Another look is wrapping in this season’s must-have, a fur vest. Any girl, any shape can wear it. How about one from a label I’m recently in love with, Show Me Your Mumu. The expresso, tans, and darker ink hues blend beautifully with the cuff embellishments. Working this into your everyday style is simple. The vest can be re-styled with a cocktail dress, denims and a mock turtleneck, a white oxford and maxi skirt, pencil skirt or any color trousers.

Accessorize: Pulling in a couple other gold accessories is glamours+smart. A statement necklace ties in the gold+silver cuff embellishments. The statement clutch not only pairs with blue hues but it can double again with an outfit in another color palette. The look can be styled with the previous bronze chandelier earrings or the statement necklace. Finish with the Marc Jacobs style envelope clutch shown in Look 1, a pair of black tights, black booties or tall black boots.

Style Flip: I love a romper’s versatility. Worn in the winter with tights and booties or flipped for a summer look, tights-free and strappy heels, sandals or platforms, the romper is a Nothing2Wear fave, chic all year-round.
