How- To: ReStyle Your White Rehearsal Dinner Dress

After she gets engaged, it’s time to spend money on the venue, the flowers, cakes and dresses and soon the dollar signs become your friends. On average, weddings are costing close to $25,000. That doesn’t include the wardrobe for all the events.

Some brides-to-be can buy a new outfit for each and every event; the engagement party, bridal showers, the rehearsal dinner or the honeymoon but not everyone has the style budget for all the big events. Here’s where I show you how to take a few outfits and repurpose them into several new looks. The bride-to-be won’t compromise on her style while saving money. She will also discover how to wear her wedding wardrobe more than once, even after the big day. Accessorizing is the key. Simple accessory swaps will give her fresh, brand new looks from the same pieces. A Nothing2Wear special featured on CBS, Better Mornings Atlanta. WATCH.

Wedding Wardrobe

LOOK 1 : We started with this beautiful white pattern dress (The Bilt-House, Atlanta). The detail cutout in the back makes it well-suited and dressed up for a rehearsal dinner. White is a versatile, stylish summer color that will pair with anything and everything.

LOOK 2: The dress can be worn without any accessories but I always look for the opportunity to accessorize. Adding a statement necklace (Kendra Scott) in any color is smart. Turquoise adds a stunning color pop on Bre.

Adding another pop of color with this hot pink clutch (The Bilt-House, Atlanta) adds pizazz.IMG_5764 IMG_5763

LOOK 3: To transition the rehearsal dinner dress to an everyday dress or for the office, I styled Stacie in a canary yellow zebra print cardigan (J.Crew), wrapped it in a patent leather and linen belt (The Limited) and added statement accessories in radiant orchard (Betsy Pittard). I love the color combination of canary yellow and violet.

The patent leather accent in the belt ties in perfectly with Stacie’s patent Mary Janes.IMG_5784

Bridal Luncheon, Bridal Shower or Honeymoon Transitional Style Ideas

LOOK 1: Madras print in coral and turquoise is reminiscent of an island in the South Pacific. This dress is youthful and dainty for a bridal luncheon or even the wedding. Ellie is wearing it with a white jean jacket and sandals for a more casual beach look on the honeymoon. Remove the jacket, add wedges and the entire ensemble is a conversation piece. (The Bilt-House, Atlanta).

LOOK 2: Coral is a haute hue this summer. This lace dress is another conversation piece that transitions well from day to night. This can be worn to an afternoon bridal shower or the wedding; whether the event is an outdoor garden wedding or if it’s an indoor church wedding. Statement jewelry (Betsy Pittard) in creams, gold, and lilac compliment coral quite well. Zora’s gold cuff is a edgy element syncing the entire look. Style Tips: The belt can also swap for a printed one and a denim jacket gives it casual elegance.

For a more casual look, toss in a denim jacket. They are incredibly versatile. Add a pop of color with butter yellow sling backs

LOOK 3: Garden party glorious. I LOVE this dress (The Bilt-House, Atlanta) on Bre. It not only highlights her skin tone but it’s the perfect fit.

Style Tips: 1. When choosing looks for your wedding and beyond, be sure the clothes fit well and compliment all your feminine features. 2. Pick a color in the dress and accessorize with that hue. I chose green (Kendra Scott) because the various shades reds are dominant and the dress needed balance.  A simple white necklace (Betsy Pittard) is all rest that this dress could handle. There’s no need to overdue accessories.
